FACTOR 2026 grant

A wallbox installation in the Balearic Islands costs from €950 (3.7 kW) to €2,500 (22 kW), with the most popular option being the 7.4 kW unit (€1,200) suitable for almost any European EV. With Type 2 connector (universal European standard), compatibility with all European-spec Teslas, BMWs, VWs, Audis and Mercedes. The FACTOR 2026 grant (Programme 4) covers 70% of the cost, up to €2,500 for individuals and €12,000 for the self-employed and businesses; it is applied for separately and paid afterwards, not a discount on the invoice.

How we work

From the first call to your car charging in the garage

Four clear steps to your EV charger installed and working.

01

Electrical survey

We assess your electrical panel's current capacity and your EV's power needs. We recommend the right wallbox power level — no overselling.

02

Fixed-price quote

Quote with all-inclusive pricing: wallbox + materials + installation. No surprises after installation.

03

Installation in 4-6 hours

Wallbox mounted on wall, cable run from electrical panel, dedicated breaker installed, electrical bonding tested. You can charge that same day.

04

Grant-ready documentation

We give you the certified installer invoice and the certificate of conformity (CIE) you need to apply for the FACTOR 2026 grant (Programme 4), which covers 70% of the cost and is paid afterwards.

Charging levels

Charging levels by installed power

The right wallbox depends on your electrical panel capacity, your usage pattern and your EV's onboard charger.

3.7

Single-phase 3.7 kW

Basic level for plug-in hybrids and EVs with low daily mileage. Charges 20-25 km of range per hour. Sufficient for overnight charging when you drive less than 60 km/day.

7.4

Single-phase 7.4 kW · most popular

Recommended for most homes with single-phase electrical supply. Charges 40-50 km of range per hour. Charges a Tesla Model 3 from 20% to 80% in about 6 hours.

11

Three-phase 11 kW

For homes with three-phase electrical supply. Charges 60-70 km/h. Charges a Tesla Model 3 from 20% to 80% in about 4 hours. Requires upgraded electrical panel.

22

Three-phase 22 kW

Maximum domestic charging power. Charges 120-140 km/h. Most modern EVs accept up to 11 kW AC, so 22 kW is overkill unless your EV explicitly supports it (some Renaults, Smart).

Real savings

How much you save charging your car at home

Charging your EV at home is dramatically cheaper than using public fast-chargers — and even cheaper if combined with solar panels.

75%

Cheaper than fast-charging

Home charging at €0.15/kWh average vs €0.50-€0.70/kWh at public fast-chargers. For 15,000 km/year, you save about €1,500 vs always using public chargers.

90%

Cheaper than petrol

An EV charged at home costs around €3/100 km vs €12-€15/100 km for petrol. For 15,000 km/year, you save €1,800-€2,200 in fuel alone.

100%

Free with solar panels

Pair a 5 kW solar system with your wallbox and charge during the day on free solar electricity. Effectively zero fuel cost for the lifetime of the system.

What you might be thinking

Real questions before installing a home charger

"Can I install one in my flat building's car park?"

Yes. Spanish law (Art. 17.5 LPH) gives every owner the right to install a charger in their parking space, without community approval. You just need to give 30 days' notice to the community. We handle the notification and the electrical wiring from your meter to your space.

"What if I move house in a few years?"

The wallbox is wall-mounted but easily removable. We've done this for many clients — installation in the new home, removal from the old one.

"My electrical panel is limited — can I still install?"

Most homes can support at least 3.7 kW, even older installations. If your panel is too limited, we either upgrade it or recommend a smart wallbox with dynamic power management (load balancing). We assess in the free electrical survey.

"How does the FACTOR 2026 grant work?"

The FACTOR 2026 grant (Programme 4) covers 70% of the cost of a private charging point, up to €2,500 for individuals and €12,000 for the self-employed and businesses. It must be applied for online before the works start and is paid afterwards. The paperwork is in Spanish and needs an NIE, property documents and a certified installer invoice — which we provide.

Why us

What sets a good wallbox installation apart

Smart wallboxes with apps

All our wallboxes include WiFi connectivity and smartphone apps for charge scheduling, consumption monitoring and cost tracking. Optional dynamic load balancing for homes with limited electrical capacity.

Frequently asked questions

What we get asked the most about this service

How much does an EV charger installation cost in the Balearics?

Wallbox installation in the Balearic Islands ranges from €950 for a 3.7 kW unit to €2,500 for a 22 kW unit, with full installation included. The most popular option is the 7.4 kW wallbox (€1,200), suitable for almost any EV. The FACTOR 2026 grant (Programme 4) covers 70% of the cost; it is applied for separately and paid afterwards, so it is not a discount on the invoice.

What grant is there for EV chargers in the Balearics?

The Govern's FACTOR 2026 call, Programme 4 (private charging infrastructure), subsidises 70% of the cost, with a cap of €2,500 for private individuals and €12,000 for the self-employed and companies. It is eligible up to 15 kW (a 22 kW wallbox qualifies if limited to 15 kW via the protection settings), open until 28 February 2027 and paid after installation.

Is a Type 2 wallbox compatible with my Tesla, BMW or Audi?

Yes. Type 2 (Mennekes) is the European charging standard, compatible with all European-spec electric vehicles: Tesla (Model 3, Y, S, X), BMW, VW, Audi, Mercedes, Volvo, Polestar, Hyundai, Kia, Renault, Peugeot and many more. Even Tesla cars sold in Europe come with Type 2 ports.

Can I install a wallbox in my building's car park?

Yes. Spanish law (Art. 17.5 of the Horizontal Property Law) gives every owner the right to install an individual charging point in a private parking space, without requiring community approval. You only need to notify the community in advance. We handle the notification and electrical installation.

How long does the installation take?

Wallbox installation typically takes 4-6 hours on the day. Pre-installation steps (electrical survey, materials ordering) take about 1-2 weeks. From contract to fully working charger: typically 2-3 weeks. The FACTOR 2026 grant is applied for separately and paid a few months after installation.

Can I combine the wallbox with solar panels?

Absolutely — this is the ideal combination. With a 5 kW solar system, you can charge your EV during the day with free solar electricity. Most smart wallboxes detect solar surplus and only consume the excess, never grid electricity during sunlight hours.
